Converge: Internet back in all service areas

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 18) — Internet service provider Converge ICT Solutions said Wednesday it has restored the internet connection in all of the areas it is servicing in the country.

“We are pleased to advise that connection has been restored for residential and enterprise clients across all of our services areas,” the company said in an advisory posted on Twitter.

However, some clients replied to the latest post of Converge, reporting that they still have no internet access. Others said the connection is back and expressed hope the incident would not happen again.

On Tuesday, Converge trended on Twitter after some of its customers complained that their connection was down.

On the same day, the firm issued an advisory that it had encountered a power-related problem, which resulted in service interruption.

Converge is headed by businessman Dennis Anthony Uy, not to be confused with businessman Dennis Uy of Dito Telecommunity.

Converge provides broadband services to residential and corporate customers, among others.

The company recently went public, raising P29.1 billion in its market debut late October, considered to be the biggest public listing this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic that slowed down economic activity.

Converge earlier revealed plans to invest up to P30 billion in capital expenses until 2021 to help improve internet services in the country.
