Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 4) — After over a year of delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 69th edition of the Miss Universe pageant is finally pushing through this May.

The Miss Universe Organization announced on Thursday that the competition will be held on May 16 in Hollywood, Florida at 8 p.m. (or Monday morning May 17 in the Philippines).

It will air live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. No other details were provided by the organization.

The reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, the first black woman from South Africa to win the crown, has been titleholder since December 2019.

Rabiya Mateo from Iloilo City will be representing the Philippines in the global pageant this May after being crowned last October.
